Developmental and Physiological Responses of Pisum sativum L. after Short- and Long-Time Cadmium Exposure

چکیده
Cadmium (Cd) as a toxic element has significant effect on plants. The presented study was focused the analysis of differences between short- (one day) and long-time (7 28 days) effects Cd (10, 50, 100 200 μM CdSO4) P. sativum L. showed that treatment generally reduced accumulation Ca, K Mn in pea elevation photosynthesis rate observed after one day treatment. However, opposite 7 days noticed, it similar for all concentrations used during experiment. influence application development delay flowering time stress-induced (increase total number flowers did not develop matured pods) evoked by Cd, except plants treated with lowest concentration, noticed. Interestingly, highest concentration increased root length but changed its structure ratio internodes to shoot length. These results indicate actions substantially differ 1, Moreover, raise or inhibition physiological responses highly depends concentration.

Changes in biochemical and physiological responses of common carp, Cyprinus carpio L. after long-term exposure to Pb (II)
In this study, the chronic toxic effects of Pb (II) on common carp, Cyprius carpio were investigated using several biomarkers at different levels of biological functions for assessing changes in ecosystem quality. In a bioassay, common carp juveniles were individually exposed to different dose of heavy metal, Pb II (0, 0.45, 0.89, 1.34 mg.l-1) for 28 days. Morphological indices such as hepat...

Physiological responses of Celtis caucasica L. and Robinia pseudoacacia L. to the cadmium and lead stresses
Afforestation of contaminated areas is considered as a possible strategy for reduction of contaminations. In the present study, the effects of lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) were investigated on chlorophyll fluorescence parameters (Fv/Fm, Fo, and Fm), photosynthetic pigments (chlorophyll a, b, and total chlorophyll), and proline in one-year-old seedlings of Celtis caucasica and Robinia pseudoacacia...
متن کاملPea (Pisum sativum L.) Growth Mutants
This review is devoted to the Pisum sativum L. growth mutants. These mutants are presented by several groups of plants. The first group is characterized by short internodes (dwarf mutants le, na, lk, la, lh, ls) or by elongated internodes (slender mutant sln). The stem growth of mutants of both types (dwarf and slender) is controlled by hormones (GA and IAA) in the stem or in seeds. Mutants cha...
متن کاملTime-dependent Changes of Cadmium and Metallothionein after Short-term Exposure to Cadmium in Rats
The time-dependent changes in cadmium (Cd) concentration were studied in Female Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats during and after Cd exposure via drinking water (10 and 50 ppm) for 30 days. The cadmium concentration in muscle, liver, kidney, blood plasma, and urine, and the metallothionein concentration in blood plasma were determined every 10 days during exposure and every 7 days after exposure for 3 ...
